Rules
Novice
beginner riders, basic riding and surface tricks, 1 wake tricks, up to a heelside 2 wake jump
(one wildcard trick allowed at end of pass {choose from intermediate category tricks only}, see trick list for specifics)

Intermediate
mid level riders with mostly 2 wake jumps, grabs, 180's, half cabs, etc.
(one wildcard trick allowed at end of pass, see trick list for specifics)

Novice & Intermediate Divisions
--You will be giving 2 passes or 2 falls (2nd fall your run is over).
--Each rider will begin from the starting dock, go around the island and be taken into the course.
--Your run will be judged from the first green buoy to the last green buoy.
--Out of course tricks will not be counted.
--You are allowed one out of course fall, after that it counts towards your 2-fall limit.
--You may try a wild card trick. This trick should be the last trick thrown before the last green buoy at then end of your 2nd pass.
--Judging is subjective, you will be judged based on your riding style and ability.
--You may repeat tricks, but remember variety is a good thing, judges like to see different tricks.
--You must be on the starting dock ready to go when the boat arrives for you. If you are not you will forfeit your ride.



Advanced
up to 4 inverts and/or 360+ spins

Expert
up to 7 inverts and/or 360+ spins

Outlaw
anything goes

Advanced, Expert, & Outlaw Divisions
--Each rider will have 5 minutes for his or her pass.
--Your run (and the 5 minutes) begins when you are off the starting dock.
--Only tricks LANDED will count towards your invert/360 limit.
--You may not repeat inverts/360s unless you want them to count towards your invert/360 limit.
--You may repeat other tricks, but remember variety is a good thing, judges like to see different tricks.
--Judging is subjective, you will be judged based on your riding style and ability.
--You must be on the starting dock ready to go when the boat arrives for you. If you are not you will forfeit your ride.

 
If you are in the first division riding for the day you must be registered by 8:50A.M.
If you are riding in any division after that you must be registered before the 5th to last rider off the dock of the previous division (we will call for final entries over the PA system).

Trick List
Novice
Tricks include:

Ride w/ one hand on handle (5 seconds)
Cross one wake
Cross both wakes
Wave to boat judge
Crouch down and touch the water
Surf the wake - turns up and down on boat wake (min. 3 turns)
Buttslide - butt touches the water (1 sec. min.)
Air (1 wake) - rider uses wake to get board in the air, off water
Bunny hop - getting air without using a wake
Cross both wakes fakie - backwards (no air)
Surface 180 - board changes direction (back to front/front to back)
Sideslide - board slides sideways on the water (1 sec. min.)
Off the wake 180 - from inside wake to outside
Bunny hop 180 - change direction outside wake by hopping into the air
Air 180 (1 wake) - rider uses wake to get into air and then changes direction
Half cab (1 wake) - rider uses wake to get into air and then changes direction (started in a fakie {switchstance} position)
heelside air (2 wakes) - rider uses wake and must clear both wakes

Intermediate
Tricks include any of the above &:

Toeside air (2 wakes) - rider uses wake and must clear both wakes
Lipslide - rider slides sideways on the crest of wake (1 sec. min)
Reverse sideslide (touch water) - sideslide w/ back towards boat, hand touching water
Blindside bunny hop 180 - 180 turn away from boat w/ handle pass
Surface 360 - board rotates 360 degrees on the surface of the water
Powerslide - board/fin break out, board slides 90 degrees (1 sec. min.)
Layback - rider lays back onto water, back touching water (1 sec. min.)
Off the wake 360 - rider uses wake (no air) to rotate board 360 degrees
Ole - board rotates 360 degress on the surface of the water with a handle rotation over the head
Air w/any grab (2 wakes)

  • Indy grab - rear hand grab, between feet
  • Tail grab - rear hand grab, tail of board
  • Melon grab - front hand grab, rear heelside grab
  • Nose grab - front hand grab, nose of board
  • Method grab - backscratcher w/ front hand heel side grab
  • Slob/mute - front hand toeside grab
  • Stalefish - rear hand heelside grab, around back leg
  • Roast beef - rear hand heelside grab, between feet
  • Crail - rear hand toe side grab, bone out back leg
  • Chicken salad - roast beef, twisted arm grab, bone out front leg
    Tailbone - straighten out back leg
    Backscratcher - raise board 90 degrees to water behind rider
    Nosebone - straighten out front leg
    360 (1 wake) - rider uses wake to get into air and rotate board 360 degrees
    180 (2 wakes) - rider uses wake to get air and changes directions
    Bunny hop 360 - outside of wake rider hops and twists 360 degrees
    Fashion air - backscratcher with hand behind head
    Nosebone w/ tail grab - nosebone and grab tail of board
    Twist - board rotates 90 degrees and back
    Nuclear - rear hand heelside grab, bone out back leg
    Palmer - melon grab with twister
    Stiffy - both legs straight with board bottom towards boat
    Indy stiffy - stiffy w/ rear hand toe side grab between feet
    Grab 180 - rider gets air, grabs, and lands opposite direction from take off
    Half cab (2 wakes) - air 180, fakie to regular
    Half cab with grab (2 wakes) - half cab with grab
    Blindside 180 (2 wake) - 180 turn from boat

    Advanced
    Tricks include any of the above & up to 4 inverts and/or 360+ spins

    Expert
    Tricks include any of the above & up to 7 inverts and/or 360+ spins

    Outlaw
